Fall Seedling Sale & Fundraiser

Date: One day only – Sunday, September 2

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Location: Peterson Garden Project Learning Center, 4642 N. Francisco, Chicago

Eager to replace your fading plants with something fresh for fall? Then come out and stock up on rare, hard-to-find heirloom fall vegetables, all grown organically here in Chicago, especially for Peterson Garden Project.

Items for sale include organic, heirloom herb and vegetable seedlings, all priced under $5. There is no cost for admission. The sale is a fundraiser; all proceeds benefit The Peterson Garden Project, a 501c3 non-profit organization. The Peterson Garden Project’s master gardeners and certified Square Foot Gardening Instructors will be on hand to answer questions and offer gardening advice. Items for sale include rare, heirloom herb and vegetable seedlings, basic gardening supplies, seeds, and even Peterson Garden Project t-shirts and posters.

All seedlings are organically grown by local farmers and gardeners, and include heirloom varietals such as:

  • Long Island Brussels Sprouts
  • Romanesco Broccoli
  • Orange Fantasia, Vulcan Red, and Bright Lights Chard.
  • Siberian, Red Russian, and Lacinato Kale
  • Escarole
  • Bok Choy
  • Italian parsley
  • Baby Choy
  • Arugula
  • Bloomsdale Spinach
  • Asian Green Tatsoi
  • Georgia southern Collards
  • Copenhagen Market Cabbage

 Note: Customers should bring their own boxes and bags to carry plants home
